The Importance of Your Membership

Please help us reduce our mailing and printing costs by renewing your AVIS membership online before the renewal notices are mailed in March.

AVIS needs your support to continue its essential work. We rely on membership dues to help with the day-to-day maintenance of the reservations. Volunteers are the backbone of our organization—they are our organization. Memberships and donations help supply the materials for their good work and cover other expenses involved in operating our land trust.

Over the past year, adult and student volunteers have spent thousands of hours on AVIS land. Whether clearing fallen trees, repairing boardwalks, removing invasive species, or restoring native habitats, these activities maintain the trails enjoyed by all who travel upon them.

And if you haven’t tried lending some hours, AVIS always welcomes new volunteers. Visit the volunteer page to learn about how you can join an Eco Team session, work with our Wardens and Rangers, or spread the word about AVIS. Contact volunteer@avisandover.org to discuss options.

Some projects on AVIS lands are too big or too specialized for our volunteers to implement. We are excited that AVIS was awarded a $100,000 MassTrails Grant to start construction on an All Persons Trail at Goldsmith Woodlands Reservation. Although AVIS has over 30 miles of woodland trails, none are accessible to people with mobility challenges. The APT trail is scheduled to be completed by the beginning of May. The crushed stone surface will enable visitors to visit Bessie’s Point, a beautiful destination on Foster’s Pond. We need additional donations to make this vital project a reality. Visit the Goldsmith Woodlands page to learn more on this project.

Thank you for your generous ongoing support

All members will receive tax receipts via email. If you would prefer to have a receipt mailed, please let us know at members@avisandover.org.

Does your employer have a matching gift program or reward volunteer hours? AVIS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Your dues, donations, and hours may be able to make an even a bigger impact.

This design is wicked! You most certainly know how to keep a reader entertained.
Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Excellent job.
I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it.
      Too cool!
